This website was created to celebrate dessert beer. It will grow over time, with updates announced on Instagram!

The most common dessert beers are still dark; you'll often see "sweet stouts" as a classification while ordering beer online.

Chocolate stouts, made with chocolate hops, evolved into double chocolate stouts and, with the addition of lactose, chocolate milk stouts.

The world of beer has come a long way since then. Cacao nibs, big-brand cocoa and even tossing candy bars and breakfast cereal into brew tanks... all while other ingredients have diversified and elevated the concept, extending the dessert label to all styles of beer.

There are pie-themed pilsners, ice cream pale ales, sours infused with milk sugar to mimic all manner of delicious delights and so much more.

It's an amazing time to be a lover of dessertish brews.

Which I am. My name is John and I'm a writer from NYC living in and around Melbourne. My favourite breweries are Omnipollo, Garage Project, Sailors Grave and Moon Dog.

I sometimes write for FROTH, an incredible independent beer magazine in Australia run by wonderful people.
